Angelina Pei-Tzu Tsai, PhD, is a clinical scientist and a licensed psychologist. At BRiTE, she leads efforts to apply artificial intelligence, including large language models, to the development of digital interventions targeting transdiagnostic trauma symptoms and risk behaviors. She also provides clinical supervision and workforce training for digital mental health initiatives globally.

Angelina completed her clinical psychology internship at the University of Washington School of Medicine and Seattle Children’s Hospital. Her experience spans inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services, emergency departments, medical units and community mental health settings, with clinical expertise in trauma-informed neuropsychological assessment, suicide risk care, cognitive behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy. She received her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology with a formal concentration in Quantitative Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She earned a Master of Science in Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, where she developed her expertise in quantitative methods that now integrate with her clinical research.

Before transitioning to clinical science, Angelina led a flagship iPhone and iPad production initiative, managed a 46-member team across three sites, and oversaw 12 mobile and tablet product launches that helped generate more than $200 million in revenue. She now combines this systems-level technology leadership with clinical and quantitative expertise to develop digital mental health solutions that are rigorous, accessible, and implementable in real-world settings.
